Maple Norwegian Sunset®
An ornamental hybrid maple grown for its shapely form and wonderful autumn colour, Acer truncatum x A. platanoides Keith’s Form (Norwegian Sunset ®) is a medium-sized, fairly fast-growing, deciduous tree with a well-branched habit, oval and upright when young, but broadening with age to a domed form. Glossy, slightly leathery leaves have the typical five-pointed maple shape, emerging with a purplish flush, they turn deep green in summer and brilliant shades of yellow-orange and red in autumn. Maple Norwegian Sunset ® makes a good specimen tree, good on windy sites and in smaller gardens, and tolerant of urban pollution.
